MORAL VALUES AND SOCIAL PROBLEMS IN JANE AUSTEN’S “PRIDE AND PREJUDICE”

The purpose of this study is to identify the social problems reflected in the novel “Pride and Prejudice “and to reveal the moral values in this novel. Two main topics were identified: social issues and moral values. In the introduction part, I gave some main information about Jane Austen and her literary work and problems related to social and moral values. In this part I explained about position of women, the difference between the upper and lower classes, and the mutual agreement. And in the next paragraphs I gave some literature reviews that some scholars and writers’ opinion about “Pride and Prejudice”; some parts of the novel that can prove the real issues on the topic “Moral values and social problems”.
