Semirib ketish-bu tanadagi ortiqcha yog'larning to'planishi deb ta'riflangan va jiddiy kasalliklar, nogironlik va o'lim xavfining oshishi bilan bog'liq bo'lgan kasallik. Davolash usullari tana massasi indeksi, bel atrofi va bemorning sog'lig'iga salbiy ta'siri yoki kelajakda duch kelish xavfi yuqori bo'lganligi asosida aniqlanadi. Endokrinologlar hozirgi semirish epidemiyasining asosiy oqibatlaridan biri — 2 - toifa diabetni davolash uchun noyob imkoniyatlarga ega bo'lishsa-da, biz uning asosiy sabablaridan biri-semirishni samarali davolashga tayyor bo'lishimiz kerak. 2-toifa diabet va semirish bir-biri bilan chambarchas bog'liq.
