TEACHING LISTENING SKILLS TO YOUNG LEARNERS IN EFL CLASSES.

Listening is crucial part of language in EFL context. Teaching young learners (YL) firstly listening is more logical than teaching writing or reading. However teachers and students pay less attention to listening they face many problems in learning listening in EFL classes. This article discusses the types of listening ( selective, , intensive, interactive, discriminating, critical , appreciative and listening for comprehension) , listening strategies ( cognitive, metacognitive and socio-affective strategies), and tries to find the solutions to listening problems of students by top-down and bottom-up processes.
