The article studies the concept of «time», functions and location of adverbial modifiers of time and time indicators in the Uzbek and English sentences. It is emphasized that, depending on their functions, adverbial modifiers and time indicators are placed in the beginning, in the middle, or in the end of the sentence, thus having a greater freedom of location in the Uzbek and English sentences than other members.
